General Summary:
Classified Staff will help execute and supervise out of school time activities with students. Our goal is to raise literacy and math achievement as well as improve academic and nonacademic performance, while providing a safe and supportive environment and build and strengthen relationships with students. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Experience with reading and math interventions for students
Ability to relate to and mentor students
Ability to provide a safe and supportive environment for students
Promoting the success and achievement of students from culturally diverse backgrounds
Work with students to develop and implement programs that help them improve academic and social skills
Ability to implement the district’s student management expectations
Ability to work successfully with students of differing physical, cognitive and language abilities
Ability to work as a team to develop and implement needed curriculum and enrichment opportunities for elementary students.
Ability to provide clear directions in a supportive manner to students
Attend staff meetings and trainings.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to speak Spanish
Demonstrates ability to relate positively and productively with diverse youth and adults
Strong communication skills and ability to work as a collaborative team member
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent
Must meet one of the following:
Have received a qualifying score on the Education Testing Service (ETS) Paraeducator assessment
Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university
Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university
