Summer School Certified Staff - for 21st Century Community Learning Centers

MONDAY – THURSDAY (except week of July 4)
8:00 am TO 1:30 pm or 3:30 pm depending on summer schedule
$32.50 per hour Position
NOT Eligible for Benefits

General Position Summary:  The Certified Teaching Staff will report to and communicate with the 21st CCLC Site Coordinator. Certified Staff will execute and supervise summer school time activities with students. Our goal is to support literacy and math in grades 1st through 8th, while providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment and to build and strengthen relationships with students. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Ability to deliver engaging, fun enrichment activities related to STEM and/or Project Based Learning

  • Ability to know how to make a child feel important

  • Ability to provide a safe, welcoming, supportive, respectful and fun environment for students

  • Promoting the success and achievement of low-income students from culturally diverse backgrounds

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods

  • Ability to work successfully with students of differing physical, cognitive and language

  • Ability to provide clear directions in a supportive manner to staff

  • Ability to work as a team to implement designed curriculum and enrichment opportunities for students

  • Attend staff meetings and prepare for summer school June 26-30 (10 hours)

  • Required to have working knowledge of computer technology and equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Program Based Learning

  • Doesn’t mind getting messy or cleaning up messes

  • Ability to speak Spanish

  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
