General Summary: Certified Staff will help execute and supervise out of school time activities with students. Our goal is to raise literacy and math achievement in grades one through four and improve academic and nonacademic performance, while providing a safe and supportive environment and build and strengthen relationships with students. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and/or tutoring students

  • Reading and math help for students

  • Design and carry out fun and meaningful activities related to math, literacy, STEAM and/or Project Based Learning

  • Mentor students

  • Make a safe space for students and let them know they are cared about

  • Work with students with different abilities

  • Work as a team to develop curriculum that is fun, relevant and meaningful

  • Provide clear directions that is still supportive to both students and paraprofessionals

  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and organize prep time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in teaching project-based STEAM units

  • Ability to speak Spanish

  • Ability to relate with diverse youth and adults

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team member

  • Classroom management and organizational skills

  • Strong commitment to the program for consistency for students

  • Willing to drive a school van

Required Qualifications:

  • Washington State Teaching Certificate
