Student & Family Bulletin

Week of September 25

Announcements:

  1. SPECIAL BELL SCHEDULES: Due to homecoming, we will be on special bell schedules on Monday and Friday. Monday we will have a morning assembly, and Friday we will have an afternoon assembly.  HERE is a copy of the schedules for the week.  Wednesday will be a normal 1:40 release schedule.

  2. PARKING LOT UPDATE: We will have to close the A Lot on Monday and Tuesday for the construction crew to do some more work.  This means that parent drop off and pick up will need to happen in C Court and/or on Fieldhouse Rd.  Buses will still drop off and pick up in A Court (but across the parking lot where they were doing so earlier in the year).  Student parking will be impacted once again and overflow parking will be at the fieldhouse and/or the football practice field behind the field house.  Plan to arrive early or park in overflow.

Tickets go on sale Monday, September 25th at lunch in A-Court for $7 w/ ASB, $10 without. Tickets will be sold at the door, but you'll save a lot of money buying yours in advance, so plan ahead.  If you turned in a guest dance registration form last week, you will receive a confirmation email once your guest has been approved.  Remember that guests may not attend without the CHS student who is bringing them and that they must bring a valid photo ID.

  5. GYM CLOSED DURING LUNCH: The gym will be closed during lunch this week for classes to practice for Friday’s lip sync.  9th graders are practicing on Monday, 11th graders are practicing on Tuesday and Friday, 12th graders are practicing on Wednesday, and 10th graders are practicing on Thursday.  These are just the gym practices.  There may also be other practices.  Check with your class sponsor or class officers for more information.

  6. STEM RISING STAR AWARD: Congratulations to Academy Student Lilli McCauley, who was named Career Connect Southwest’s 2023 Washington STEM Rising Star. The Washington STEM Rising Star Awards recognize young women who explore STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) in ways that will support their education, career, personal development, and community.  Lilli was chosen for this honor for her countless hours after school and on weekends developing assistive devices for people with disabilities and challenges through Gorge Maker Space.  Way to go, Lilli!
