Hours vary, based on bus route
Hours could be range from 3 – 4.25 per day
Hours could be 6:45 am – 8:15 am, 2:45 pm – 4:00 pm, etc.
$13.60 - $16.80 per hour

General Position Summary:
The main duties of the bus aide are to assist the driver with student management and the loading/unloading of the students. The driver has the ultimate responsibility for the students and the aide is a support position.
General Responsibilities:
• Works collaboratively with bus driver in receiving bus passes and ensuring students get off at correct stops
• Works cooperatively with bus driver to ensure that students comply with the established safety rules
• Establishes and maintains a positive behavioral climate, using appropriate student management intervention techniques to all students while they are being transported on routes and activity/field trips.
• Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with staff and parents
• Assists school bus driver in emergency situations and pre/post-trip inspections of the school bus.
• Possesses regular and predictable attendance at designated worksite

Job Scope:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Recent successful experiences working with children and adolescents.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing.
• Maintain employee and employer confidentiality and handle confidential matters in an ethical and professional manner.
• Flexibility in working hours.
• Criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
• Regular and predictable attendance at designated worksite.
• Able to bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, especially in an emergency situation.
• Able to sit for long periods of time.
• Completion of classroom training to include:
o Personal Appearance and Attitude (amended)
o Evacuation Drills
o Rules for Bus Passengers
o Loading and Unloading (amended)
o Passenger Management
o Harassment on the Bus
o Collision Scene Procedures
o Accessory Equipment
